What’s it like to work in the Client Services Team?

As an account handler, you are the brand guardian so colleagues will look to you for guidance on all of the brand’s work. This could be something as simple as sourcing existing references or assets on the server, or a bigger task such as representing the client during an internal meeting to communicate their strategy.

I describe the job as ‘keeping the plates spinning’ – I’m responsible for overseeing all projects across the account, and need to ensure that they are all running on brief, on time, on budget, and that all of the stakeholders are happy.

What’s a typical day like?

I usually get to the office for 9:15 am. Every day is very different, full, busy, but that’s what I enjoy about my role. Typically, I have a daily call with a client, various meetings with internal teams, and an opportunity to brief or review work from our different capabilities – Customer Experience, Strategy, Creative, and Insight.

Why Fishawack Health?

The client respects and trusts us with decision-making and tactical planning because they know we possess the skillset in-house to make the best decisions for them. They don’t see us as an agency or supplier but as a partner. It’s a very gratifying feeling, to know that you’re working with your client, and not for your client.

On top of that, everyone’s opinion is valued, and I can approach someone senior for advice or to raise a concern. It fosters such a liberated atmosphere – everyone feels free to develop and stretch their creativity or skillset, without fear of fitting into a hierarchy or office politics.

It’s a very gratifying feeling, to know that you’re working with your client, and not for your client.”

With all that work, is there time for play?

After work, I usually spend time either watching a movie at home with flatmates or out in London soaking up the culture. I love going to restaurants and bars, it’s one of my favourite things to do after a long rewarding day. There’s always so much to do, and I love having it all on my doorstep.

Being a member of the Social Committee allows me to organize events, from after-work drinks to the Christmas and Summer Parties. Our parties always have an edge – most recently, we held our Summer party in Barbican Conservatory, and our Christmas party was a drag-filled pantomime extravaganza!
