Developing the new generation of medical writers

Fishawack Health | 25 November 2020

Fishawack Health expands its Supporting Training, Enhancing Professional Skills (STEPS) program, helping new medical writers jump-start their careers.

The Medical Communications team at Fishawack Health are experts in translating complex data into compelling narratives to progress standards of healthcare.

When new writers start their journey with the Fishawack Health pack, we make sure every recruit receives the training and development they need to exceed expectations.

This year we’ve embraced the virtual training environment with our comprehensive foundation training program: ‘Making strides in Medical Communications,’ to help each one of our new junior medical writers up the learning curve.

Our Scientific Services senior team designed the bespoke and comprehensive 10-week foundation program to ensure our new medical writers are experts in our unique Fishawack Health processes. It equips them with the skills needed to deliver projects to the highest standard and allows them to meet others from across the company.

Following the success of the foundation program, our Medical Communications team is launching an advanced course for more seasoned writers in the new year.

“We’re very excited to be delivering this training to the new writer cohorts in 2021, and also launching a complimentary program for the medical writers with a year to 18 months of experience already under their belts,” said Diane Sutherland Group Professional Development Director.

Feedback so far from attendees and account teams taking part in the foundation course has been overwhelmingly positive so far.

“There were a lot of useful tips in the training course, to help a new writer improve their skills,” said one attendee.

“The program helped to get an overall picture of the industry and provided practical tips for medical writers,” another attendee revealed.
